COLONIA, NJ – Sophomore Karis Kraf hit a PR and led a trio of Redhawks to East Coast Conference (ECC) Weekly Awards as she was named the ECC Field Athlete of the Week.
Kraf was joined by junior Jadyn Mullen and sophomore Paige Reeser with weekly awards as both Mullen and Reeser were named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll.
Kraf moved up to No. 4 in the nation in pole vault as she won the Youngstown Mid-Major Invitational over the weekend. She cleared a personal-best height of 4.18 meters (13' 8 ½") to win the competition with 35 vaulters. She opened at 3.77 meters and after missing her first jump, she cleared six of the next seven attempts and then passed to the new PR height of 4.18 and hit the vault on ger second attempt.
Reeser set her personal best in the Mile with a time of 5:08.62 which ranks No. 2 in the ECC current standings. She also anchored the Distance Medley Relay for Roberts that placed fourth overall (of 18 teams) with an ECC-best time of 12:28.32.
Mullen set the school record in the Pentathlon with a final score of 3,816. She won the competition (27 competitors) as she placed first in the High Jump and 800-meters and was second in the shot put. Her mark in the long jump (5.61 meters 18' 5") ranks second in the ECC and her shot put of 10.91 meters (35' 9 ½") is currently fourth in the conference standings.
The Roberts Wesleyan Track and Field teams will compete in Utica this weekend in the final tune-up for the ECC Championships set for February 15.
