GREENSBORO, NC – After an All-American performance at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships last week, sophomore Kennedy Benjamins won the first meet of the season in Pennsylvania and has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Field Athlete of the Week.
Benjamins won the pole vault competition at the opening outdoor meet of the season as she cleared the 4-meter bar (13' 1 ½") on her final attempt to earn first-place honors. The height was an outdoor PR by more than a foot and placed her at or near the top of the national leaderboard early in the season.
The Track and Field teams will be back into a regular schedule of meets starting in April.
