Men’s Volleyball Drops Conference Opener on the Road

SPARKILL, NY – The Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball teams dropped a close match on the road to St. Thomas Aquinas College in the first East Coast Conference (ECC) contest of the season. The Spartans won all three sets by two points each.

STAC (7-11 overall, 1-0 ECC) won by set scores of 29-27, 25-23 and 26-24.

Junior Paul Fillion led the Redhawks (12-10, 0-1 ECC) with 10 kills while sophomore Ryan DeJohn and freshman Jordan Hoover added nine kills each. Hoover had a .900 attack percentage with nine kills and no errors on 10 attacks.

Sophomore Landon Brouwer handed out 30 assists while senior Moises Jimenez, Brouwer and freshman Jayce Moore combined for 13 digs.

Roberts continues the ECC schedule with a second road match of the week at Dominican University Saturday afternoon.
