ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Sophomore
Landon Brimmer stopped a career-high 22 shots as the Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team opened East Coast Conference play with a 14-8 loss to No. 16 Molloy on Saturday.
Brimmer, who was making his second start of the season, finished the game with a save percentage of 61.1%.
Roberts (1-5, 0-1 ECC) trailed 9-5 at the half before cutting the deficit to 10_8 on a goal by
Cody Coleman with 3:28 to play in the third quarter. Molloy closed the game with a 4-0 run to secure the victory.
Junior
Colton Ugine led the Redhawks with a goal and four assists. Sophomore
Colin Duncan scored three goals while Coleman finished with two goals and an assist.
Chase Wilson and
Preston Steve also scored for Roberts.
Senior
Isaac Marrero won 15 of 22 face-offs and collected 10 ground balls for Roberts.
The Redhawks play their home opener at 5 p.m. on March 25 against Lake Erie College.
