ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team scored three goals in the first 6:13 and rolled to a 13-7 win over Lake Erie College in its home opener on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Colin Duncan opened the scoring with two goals in the opening 2:36 and led the Redhawks (2-5) with four goals and one assist in the non-conference game.
Sophomore
Cody Coleman contributed four points on two goals and two assists and
Chase Wilson added three goals for Roberts.
Freshman
Nixon Karcz scored two goals and
Sam Keens and
Ryan Brown both finished with a goal and an assist for the Redhawks.
Roberts dominated the face-off X, winning 20 of 25. Senior
Isaac Marrero won 16 of 21 face-offs and led Roberts with 13 ground balls and sophomore
Anthony Vitale went 4-for-4 on face-offs.
Senior
Liam Linden led the defense with 11 ground balls and five caused turnovers. Sophomore
Landon Brimmer made 11 saves and picked up the win in goal.
The Redhawks travel to the University of the District of Columbia for an East Coast Conference game at noon on Saturday.
