ROCHESTER, NY – Sophomores Austin Melvin and Jordan Bryner along with graduate student Jackson Doran have all earned spots at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet scheduled for May 21-23 at Emporia State University in Kansas.
Melvin and Bryner will represent the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Track and Field team in the Pole Vault competition and Doran will run for the Redhawks in the 1500 meters race.
Bryner finished the regular season ranked 15th in the country with his winning vault of 5.20 meters (17' ¾") at the Geneseo Invitational in early April while Austin earned his spot as the 17th ranked vaulter after clearing 5.17 meters (16' 11 ½") at the Bill Q Invitational April 24.
Doran was a qualifier in the 1500 as he broke his own school record in the event with a time of 3:44.09 at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University April 11th. The time ranks him 27th in the nation.
The 1500 race is set for Thursday, May 21 at 6:10 p.m. (Eastern Time) and the Men's Pole Vault competition is scheduled for 3 p.m. (Eastern Time) Saturday, May 23.
