ROCHESTER, NY – Based on the final results of the East Coast Conference (ECC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Roberts Wesleyan on April 30, a total of 19 members of the Women's Track and Field team earned All-ECC Honors.
There were 10 athletes that earned ECC Championship titles with first-place finishes in their events as a pair of relays along with Pole Vault and Shot Put had Redhawks in first place.
Sophomore Kennedy Benjamins was the Pole Vault Champion while freshman Ava Wierda won the Shop Put title for Roberts. The 4x400 relay with freshmen Abigail Bowen, Emma Lipa, Solki Martin-Lacayo and Michaela Goettel finished first and the 4x800 relay featuring sophomores Mia Lucyshyn and Paige Reeser with freshmen Rose Wilson and Lydia Demarest also raced to a top finish.
All 10 athletes were among the First Team All-ECC Honorees. Reeser also won First Team honors in the 1500 while Wierda was a First Team selection in the Discus and also earned Second Team honors in the Hammer Throw.
Goettel was a Second Team winner in the 800 while Demarest and Lucyshyn earned Second Team honors in the 1500. Sophomore Evelyn Schmit earned First Team honors in the 5K and senior Lydia Roselund was Second Team in the same event. Fellow senior Rachel Horner-Richardson was a First Team selection in the 10K and senior Gianna Tribotte was a Second Team honoree in the 3K Steeple Chase.
Benjamins was joined by sophomore Karis Kraf with First Team honors in the Pole Vault while junior Melia Couchman and freshman Natalie Murray picked up Second Team awards in Pole Vault.
Murray added a Second Team honor in the High Jump and sophomore Madelyn Rutledge was a Second Team honoree in both the Long and Triple Jumps events.
