CANTON, OHIO – Sophomore
Tiana Copp delivered an ace for the winning point as the Roberts Wesleyan University women's volleyball team rallied to defeat Charleston University in five sets on Friday afternoon and split its first two matches at the season-opening Hall of Fame Challenge hosted by Malone University.
Roberts (1-1) trailed Charleston 2-1 before scoring the final four points in both the fourth and fifth sets to take the match by scores of 25-21, 23-25, 15-25, 25-21 and 15-11.
Senior
Camryn Karelus sparked Roberts with 18 kills and 14 digs while Copp contributed 9 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces in the victory.
Senior Julia Dufkova contributed 17 digs while sophomore
Ryan Hull set for 34 assists and
Rachel Dixon added four blocks.
Roberts lost its first match of the day to Roosevelt University in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-10 and 20-11. Â
Karelus had nine kills and freshman
Breanna Hard contributed 15 assists and five digs.
The Challenge continues on Saturday with matches against Edinboro at 9 a.m. and host Malone University at 1:30 p.m.
