ROCHESTER, NY – Three different players scored to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team, ranked No. 9 in the East Region, to a 3-1 win Tuesday over Southern New Hampshire University.
Senior Jenna Northup opened the scoring before fellow seniors Adria Ariola and Miah Lathrop added goals for the Redhawks (4-0-3).
Northup scored in the eighth minute to give Roberts an early lead after a long pass from junior Ileana Cheruiyot.
Eight minutes later, Ariola converted a pass from junior Sam Cipolla for the 2-0 lead.
In the second half, Southern New Hampshire (2-4-0) trimmed the lead after a collision in front of the goal took senior goalkeeper Rebecca Hoffman out of the play allowing an uncontested shot to score as the Penmen cut the lead to 2-1.
Less than four minutes later, Lathrop notched her first career goal with a shot on a free kick into the corner of the goal.
Hoffman finished with four saves and Roberts extended its unbeaten streak to 18 games.
The Redhawks open East Coast Conference (ECC) play Saturday at Queens College.
