The Daemen Wildcats defeated the Roberts Wesleyan Raiders last night in an American Mideast Conference game at the Voller Athletic Center, 63-49. The effort was positive most of the night for the Raiders but turnovers and the inability to get scoring from different sources limited what the Raiders
could accomplish. Daemen was able to score 26 points off turnovers and got 17 points from their bench. The Raiders on the other hand, turned the ball over 24 times and their bench was unable to produce any points in the contest.
Jordan Heath was a bright spot early and kept the Raiders in the ball game scoring 15 points in the first half, but the Raiders still trailed going into the half, 36-23.
The Raiders came out strong in the second half and quickly cut the Daemen lead to 5 points at the five minute mark.
Rashaad Stokelin and
Justin Andreozzi, playing through an injured wrist, sparked the quick start in the second half. A Heath layup with 13:30 to go made the score 39-43, but Daemen's, MJ Oridami took over and scored 12 of his team's last 20 points to secure the 63-49 win.
Roberts was led by Heath's 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Justin Andreozzi scored 12 points and pulled down 7 rebounds and
Rashaad Stokelin had 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Daemen was led by Oridami's 19 points and Khorri Silcott's 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Raiders fall to 6-5 and will face the Cedarville Yellow Jackets at the VAC Saturday at 4:00 in the last contest before winter break.
