Men's Soccer Signs Versatile Standout Matt Ketzer

The newcomer can play at several positions on the field, which excites head coach Scott Reber

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 14, 2015) – Men's Soccer head coach Scott Reber has announced his third addition by signing Matt Ketzer (Averill Park, N.Y.) to the 2015 roster.

"I'm very excited about Matt committing to us," said Reber. "He's a great player that can play anywhere on the field. Matt is intelligent and I see him developing into a quality player. We're excited to have Matt join us here at Roberts Wesleyan and know that he is a great fit for our program."

A standout at Averill Park H.S., Ketzer served as team captain for a squad that made a historic run to the New York State Class A semifinals, where they fell to Pittsford Mendon, 2-0.

Over his career, Ketzer started every game his junior and senior seasons while notching seven postseason goals for the Warriors. He was named a scholar-athlete three times while being selected to the Suburban Council All-Star Second Team this past fall.

In the classroom, Ketzer has made the Averill Park high honor roll four times while wrapping up his high school career with a 3.6 grade point average.

The son of Richard and Elena Ketzer, Matt is planning to major in Marketing this fall at Roberts Wesleyan.
