Men's Tennis Falls to NYIT, Defeats Dowling

Roberts Wesleyan wrapped up their conference schedule with a split in a pair of road matches

WEST ISLIP, N.Y. (April 18, 2015) – Playing two conference matches in as many days, Roberts Wesleyan managed to split  the weekend as they fell to nationally-ranked NYIT before defeating Dowling.

On Friday, the Redhawks dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 13 NYIT as Charles Farres and Robert Beer battled in an 8-4 loss to Julio Pulido and Tomas Lieb.  At third singles, Emanuel Rauchle was competitive before falling to Lieb 6-2, 7-5.

In a shutout win over Dowling, Farres cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles over the Golden Lions' Zachary Baker. All of the other pairings were shutouts.

With the split, Roberts Wesleyan wraps-up the conference with an even 3-3 mark while taking their overall record to 11-9.

The team is back in action on Monday and Tuesday when they visit Bloomsburg and Millersville.
