Men's Tennis Ends Regular Season With Victory

The Redhawks downed Millersville, 8-1, on the road to wrap up the regular season

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (April 21, 2015) – Playing in their regular season finale, Roberts Wesleyan picked up an 8-1 road win at Millersville this afternoon.

Highlighting the win was Charles Farres at first singles. The junior notched his 15th singles victory in dual matches on the season as he edged Jody Sambrick 6-7, 6-0, 7-6. This was after Farres teamed with Robert Beer to down Sambrick and Kevin Tran at first doubles, 8-2.

Beer, who surpassed 100 career wins this past weekend, also won at second singles by defeating Tran 6-0, 6-3.

At third doubles, Millersville's Nike Mucci and Pearson Clary gave Emanuel Rauchle and Rene Torti fits, but the Redhawks were able to hang on to a narrow 8-6 win.

The lone loss for Roberts Wesleyan came at fifth singles as Dustin Eshleman fell to Dylan Ryan 6-2, 6-4.

The Redhawks are off until Friday when the take on top-seeded NYIT in the ECC Championship semifinal at 10 a.m. The tournament is being held at Queens in Flushing, N.Y.
