ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts men's tennis team fell 5-4 in a hotly contested match against Le Moyne College on Tuesday.
Senior co-captain
Jose Carrillo was the lone double winner for the Redhawks. He teamed with freshman
Guido Janssen to win 8-6 at third doubles and then defeated Tyler Underwood at sixth singles by a 7-6, 6-0 score.
Roberts other points came at first and fifth singles. Senior co-captain
Hugo Ball-Greene defeated Phillip Blythe 6-7, 6-2, 10-5 at first singles, and freshman
Harmeet Luthra defeated Christian Errickson 6-4, 6-4 at fifth singles.
"This was an excellent college match against a regionally ranked top ten team," said head coach
Tom Linhart. "We played hard and fought back but just couldn't break through for the win. Once again our senior leadership was evident and I was pleased with the play of our freshman in this match."
The Redhawks are now 1-1 on the year and travel to Connecticut to play regional powerhouse Post University on Saturday.
