Men's Tennis Takes Down Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's tennis team ran its season record to 11-4 with an 8-1 victory over Bloomfield University.
 
"This was a well played match against a very competitive team," head coach Tom Linhart Sr. said. "We played with great poise and intelligence."
 
Freshman Paul Langbroek and Junior Jose Carrillo opened the scoring with a convincing 8-0 win at third doubles. Junior Hugo Ball-Greene and freshmen Dennis Barlotta followed with an 8-4 win at first doubles. Bloomfield scored its only point of the match at second doubles when junior Dustin Eshleman and senior Guilherme Plentz de Liz lost to Vadim Kustov and Nikola Seles, 8-6.
 
The singles matches were a Roberts' sweep. Carrillo and freshman Matthew Cruz followed with straight set wins at fifth and sixth singles.  Ball-Greene clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win at first singles over Thulani Hove. Langbroek and Barlotta followed with straight set wins.
 
The Redhawks are off until next Saturday when they travel to Erie, Pa. to play Mercyhurst.
