ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's tennis team fell out of East Coast Conference playoff contention following a 6-3 loss to Saint Thomas Aquinas on Friday afternoon.
The Redhawks fell behind 2-1 after doubles play. The duo of
Paul Langbroek and
Jose Carrillo got Roberts on the board with an 8-5 win at the No. 3 slot.
Langbroek kept the Redhawks alive in singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot and
Hugo Ball-Greene added a win at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 7-6 (6). But the Spartans swept No. 3 through No. 6 to claim the victory and eliminate the Redhawks from tournament contention.
Roberts (13-11, 1-3 ECC) host Queens College on Saturday for the final match of the season.
