ROMEOVILLE, IL – Graduate student Owen White and senior Zachary Hall earned top-100 finishes to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Cross Country team to a 31st place team finish at the Lewis Conference Crossover meet featuring nearly 400 runners Saturday afternoon.
White was the top Roberts runner as he placed 48th overall with a time of 24:50.80 over the 8K course. Hall was next to cross the line for the Redhawks with a time of 25:17.70 to place 95th overall.
Freshman Trevor Heitkamp shaved 15 seconds off his season-best time as he clocked a 25:55.50 to place 191st while sophomore Caleb Belanger ran a 26:55.10 and senior Landon Schreib recorded a time of 26:59.00 as the duo placed 284th and 289th respectively.
Other finishers for the Redhawks included freshman Jakob Zibbel (27:03.90), freshman Nathan Demarest (27:13.80), freshman Boston Dues (28:07.50), freshman Charles Matzke (28:10.40) and graduate student Theodore Pintabona (28:23.40).
Some of the Redhawks roster competed at the Houghton Highlander Invitational Saturday and the team placed sixth overall with sophomore Micah Barber leading the way with his 37th place finish with a time of 27:38.4.
The other scoring runners for Roberts included freshman Caleb Price (28:00.50), sophomore Russell Mulley (28:22.60), freshman Hunter Himebaugh (28:27.2) and freshman Kenny Duval (29:38.6).
The races were the final tune ups for the East Coast Conference Championships October 26 at Daemen University.
