SYRACUSE, NY – Freshman Antonie Pieterse continued to change the Roberts Wesleyan University Swimming and Diving record books as he improved one record and set three more Saturday as the Redhawks competed in a dual meet with Division I LeMoyne College.
Pieterse lowered his school record in the 200 butterfly and then set new school records in the 200 backstroke, 50 butterfly and ended the meet with a record-setting time in the 50 freestyle in the opening leg of the 200 freestyle relay.
LeMoyne won the meet with a 206-94.
Pieterse lowered his 200 butterfly record with a pool-record and winning time of 1:54.13. He won the 200 back with a record time of 1:58.17 and won the 50 breast with a record time of 22.20. In the 200 free relay, he started the race with a split of 21.20 for a fourth record on the day.
In diving, senior William Rugaber won the 3-meter event with a 163.55 score and took second on the 1-meter board with a score of 255.80.
Junior Tommy Booth was second in the 50 breast (27.54) and was second in the 200 breast (2:25.79) while freshman Ethan Springle finished second in the 50 back with a time of 27.54.
The 200 free relay with Pieterse, sophomore Jon Spencer, Springle and sophomore Avery Fedor placed third with a time of 1:32.77.
The Redhawks are scheduled to host Edinboro with a dual meet November 9 in the Voller Athletic Center.
