SYRACUSE, NY – The diving tandem of junior Emma Dicob and sophomore Sidney Simmons each qualified for the NCAA Championships in diving as they led the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Swimming and Diving team at a dual meet at LeMoyne College Saturday.
Dicob placed first in both the 1- and 3-meter events and qualified for the NCAA Championships with an 11-dive score of 433.95 on the 1-meter board. She broke the 6-dive school record on the lower board with a score of 260.55.
Simmons was second on both boards and earned the qualifying standard with her 11-dive 1-meter score of 412.90.
In addition to the impressive diving at LeMoyne, senior Mya Webb took first in three events and broke the school record of assistant coach Amanda Charleston in the 50 butterfly with a winning time of 28.02.
Webb also won the 50 freestyle in 25.99 and the 200 IM with a time of 2:32.12.
Junior Joane Arzalluz Garzon was second with a time of 2:07.78 in the 200 freestyle and took third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:44.76.
Roberts is scheduled to host Edinboro Saturday, Nov. 9 in the Voller Athletic Center.
