SELINSGROVE, PA – Freshman Austin Melvin and graduate student Brynn King each posted a win in their respective pole vault events for the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's and Women's Track and Field teams at the Susquehanna Early Season Multi and Invitational meet over the weekend.
Melvin was the top collegiate finisher in the men's competition as he cleared the 4.60-meter (15' 1") bar after passing all the way to that starting height. The second-place finisher was nearly a full meter back in the standings.
King continued her early season success as she passed on heights until the 14-foot mark and finished with the winning mark of 4.45-meters (14' 7 ¼").
The Redhawks finished with four of the top five finishers with sophomore Sarah Ferguson placing second at 4.05 (13' 3 ½"), freshman Alexandrea Robertson was fourth at 3.75 (12' 3 ½") and fellow freshman Karis Kraf placed fifth as she cleared 3.60 (11' 9 ¾").

Diego Arellano Jasso placed 13th for the Redhawks in the Heptathlon with a final point total of 3,621. His highest event finish was an eighth-place finish in the high jump as he cleared the 1.76-meter (5' 9 ¼") bar.
