Brynn King Receives National Recognition

The pole vaulter was named the USTFCCCA Division II National Field Athlete of the Week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan University pole vaulter Brynn King has been named the NCAA Division II National Field Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday.

King, a graduate student, cleared 4.45m (14-7¼) last weekend at the Susquehanna Early Season Invite and Multi to notch the eighth best mark in NCAA DII history. That, coupled with her season-opening 4.60m (14-9) at the Akron Haynes Lancaster Open two weeks ago, gives her 10 of the top-11 marks on the all-time chart.

This is the fifth time in her career that King has been named national athlete of the week during the indoor season. King earned national weekly honors four consecutive weeks last year: Dec. 5, Dec.12, Jan. 16 and Jan. 23.

King is the defending NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor champion and was named the USTFCCCA National Indoor Field Athlete of the Year in 2024.
