GENEVA, OHIO – Roberts Wesleyan University divers Emma Dicob and Sidney Simmons had a positive experience at the NCAA Division II Diving Qualifier at the Spire Institute on Tuesday.
Dicob, a sophomore, placed 23^rd on the 3-meter board and Simmons, a freshman, placed 31^st on the 1-meter board. The field included 59 divers and neither Dicob nor Simmons made it through to the next round of the competition.
"I am so proud of them," Roberts head coach Sara Smith said. "It was a big environment with the same judges who will be scoring the U.S. Olympic Trials in a few months. Going into a meet like this for the first time, you never know how things are going to go, but the fact that both divers finished near the top half that both are on track to be pulled into the second round next year."
