Final Women's Results
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's cross country team ran to a strong second place finish out of 22 teams at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational during Homecoming Weekend on Saturday.
Juniors
Rachel Horner-Richardson and
Lydia Roselund and freshman
Paige Reeser all set personal records during a humid 5K race on the Matt St. James Trails.
Cornell, which placed nine runners in the top 10, led the team scoring with 18 points, Roberts finished with 107 and RIT took third with 113.
"The women ran well," said
Andrew Dorr, Director of Cross Country & Track and Field. "We are relying on some freshmen this year to fill in our top five and we had some good performances from our freshmen as well as from our upperclassmen."
Horner-Richardson, who finished second at last year's East Coast Conference Championships in 18:41.6, placed 12
th in 18:06.1. Roselund was 22
nd in 18:53.1 and Reeser was 25
th in 18:57.9.
Senior
Kylee Odell placed 30
th (19:10.1) and freshman
Evelyn Schmit was 57
th (19:55.6) to round out the scoring for Roberts. Freshman
Zoe Maupin was 71
st in 20:08.1.
The Redhawks will compete in the Lewis Conference Crossover in Romeoville, Ill., on Oct. 12.
