COLONIA, NJ – Seniors Eric Jewson and Jack Hopson led the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team to a pair of victories last week and have been honored by the East Coast Conference (ECC) with the Player of the Week awards for the week ending October 26.

Jewson was named the ECC Defensive Player of the Week and Hopson earned the Offensive Player of the Week award.

Jewson led the Redhawks to a pair of wins last week and helped Roberts clinch one of the top two seeds in the ECC Tournament. He made eight saves in a 2-1 win over Saint Michaels (ranked 10 in the East Region) in a mid-week game and then turned away nine shots in a huge 1-0 win at STAC on Saturday for his fourth shutout of the season and seventh of his career. He ranks second in the conference in goals-against average and is the conference leader in saves, save percentage and saves per game.

Hopson scored both goals for Roberts in the key East Region 2-1 win against Saint Michael's. In the weekend ECC match at STAC, he led a strong defensive effort in a 1-0 road win at Sparkill that clinched one of the top two spots in the final ECC Standings and a first-round bye in the ECC Tournament.

The Redhawks wrap up the regular season schedule with a trip to Queens College Saturday with the winning team taking the ECC regular season title and the top seed in the ECC Tournament.
