DeWITT, IL – After a strong third-place performance Friday night in the Millikin University Splash and Dash race in Decatur, Illinois, the Roberts Wesleyan University Triathlon team wrapped up the weekend with a solid finish at the Prairie Cup Triathlon on Saturday.

Freshman Skye Mickelthwaite was the overall winner Friday with a time of 20:36 in the swim and run Biathlon event for the Redhawks. Senior Joane Arzalluz-Garzon was third overall with her finishing time of 21:34.

The Redhawks wrapped up the team scoring with sophomore Jenna Maendel (27:55) and sophomore Paige Kern (28:17) giving Roberts the points to finish third in the overall team standings.

Mickelthwaite was 33rd overall in the Saturday sprint triathlon race as Arzalluz-Garzon crossed the finish line in 49th position. Maendel (88th) and Kern (96th) wrapped up the finishers for the Redhawks.

The Roberts Triathlon team is off until October 25 when the squad travels to Lake Norman, NC for the East Region Qualifier.
