Relays Lead Roberts Women at North Country Invitational

POTSDAM, NY – Freshman Teagan Lewis had a trio of top-3 individual finishes and helped three relays to second-place finishes to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Swimming and Diving team at the two-day North Country Invitational that wrapped up competition Saturday afternoon at SUNY Potsdam.

Roberts placed third as a team with 363 points. Saint Michael's College was first with 707.5 points and Clarkson University was second with 378 points. Norwich University (346.5) was fourth and SUNY Potsdam (67) was fifth in the team standings.

Lewis was the top finisher in the 100-yard freestyle race Saturday as she clocked a time of 55.15. The freshman added a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle (25.78) and had a strong finish to take third in the 100 breaststroke race with a time of 1:16.34 to edge the fourth-place finisher by less than a tenth of a second.

Lewis was also a key member of three strong relays for the Redhawks. She swam the second leg in the 200 medley relay and the lead leg of the 400 free relay as both finished second. The Roberts 200 free relay with Lewis as the anchor leg was also second.

The 200 medley relay featured Lewis, freshman Skye Micklethwaite, senior Joane Arzalluz-Garzon and sophomore Cara Pillittieri who finished in 1:59.34. The 200 free relay had Pillittieri, Micklethwaite, Arzalluz-Garzon and Lewis and clocked a time of 1:46.11. The 400 free relay completed the Saturday competition with Lewis, Micklethwaite, Arzalluz-Garzon and Pillittieri and a time of 3:48.87.

The Roberts divers had a pair of 1-2 finishes as junior Sidney Simmons won the 1-meter competition and senior Emma Dicob was the top scoring diver in the 3-meter competition. Each diver hit a second NCAA Championship qualifying mark to secure a spot in the NCAA Championships again in 2026. Dicob had a score of 284.15 and Simmons won the 1-meter with her score of 264.10.

Pillittieri was second in the 500 free (5:27.79) and third in the 1,650 free (20:04.52), Arzalluz-Garzon was third in the 200 IM (2:24.87), won the 400 IM (5:10.65) and was second in the 200 breast (2:41.91). Micklethwaite added a second-place finish in the 100 back with her time of 1:05.77.

The Roberts swimmers completed the first semester and will swim next in January at Pitt-Bradford. The divers will compete next weekend at the Don Richards Invitational at RIT.
