ROCHESTER, NY – The Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team earned the No. 2 seed in the East Coast Conference (ECC) Tournament and are set to host one of the tournament semifinal matches at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Redhawks (9-2-6 overall, 4-1-3 ECC) placed second overall in the final conference standings despite a preseason poll prediction of sixth place as voted on by the head coaches in the conference.
Roberts has a bye in the first round of the tournament and will host No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas College (7-7-3 overall, 5-3-0 ECC) after the Knights downed Molloy 3-1 Wednesday afternoon in one of the ECC Tournament quarterfinal matches. No. 5 University of the District of Columbia scored a 1-0 overtime upset win over Mercy University to advance in the second quarterfinal and will face No. 1 Queens College at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Roberts is seeking its first ECC title in Men's Soccer since joining the ECC in 2012.
