ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Five members of the Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team have been named Academic All-District® by College Sports Communicators.

Kara Choate,
Larissa Johnston and
Emma Taylor, junior
Jenna Northup and sophomore
Ileana Cheruiyot were all starters for the Redhawks, who went 11-3-5 and won the ECC Postseason Championship for the first time in program history. Roberts received an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championship where it was eliminated on penalty kicks.
Choate, a second-team All-ECC selection, is an Education major from Gasport, N.Y. She scored five goals and had three assists this season and finished her Roberts career with 13 goals and 12 assists.
Johnston, a third-team All-ECC selection, is an Exercise Science major from Greece, N.Y. She had one goal and one assist this season and finished her Roberts career with 12 goals and two assists.
Taylor, a Nursing major from Spencerport, N.Y., scored one goal and led the Redhawks in minutes played this season with 1,714. She finished her soccer career with one goal and one assists and has won ECC titles as a member of both the women's soccer and lacrosse teams.
Northup, a third-team All-ECC selection, is a Nursing major from Churchville, N.Y., led the Redhawks with eight goals this season. She scored goals in each of Roberts' ECC postseason wins and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the ECC Championship. She has scored 10 goals in three seasons as a Redhawk.
Cheruiyot, a Business major from Spencerport, N.Y., was one of the Redhawks' top defenders and ranked second on the squad in minutes played with 1,615.
