PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Swimming and Diving team won the team championship at the Metropolitan Conference Championship Sunday and added individual hardware with wins in all the major awards handed out at the conclusion of the meet.
Roberts won the team championship with 1,039 points and outscored Baruch College (995 points) for the title. Gordon College (958) was third followed by Sarah Lawrence (789), Mount Saint Mary (696), John Jay College (511), Brooklyn College (410), Hunter 395) and SUNY Maritime (77).
Senior Mya Webb was the Swimmer of the Meet, freshman Cara Pillittieri was named the Rookie of the Meet, junior Emma Dicob was named the Diver of the Meet while Diving Coach Jackie Bors was named the Diving Coach of the Meet and the coaching staff with Head Coach Sara Smith and Assistant Coaches Shane Logan and Amanda Charleston earned the Coaching Staff of the Year for the women.
Webb won the 100 Freestyle with a school record and an NCAA Championships B-Cut time of 51.63.
Dicob won the 3-meter diving competition with a school-record score of 465.55 while Pillittieri set a pair of school records with her time of 18:42.10 in the 1650 Freestyle race and the 1000-yard split in the race.
