GENESEO, NY – A small contingent of athletes represented the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's and Women's Track and Filed team at the relocated Bill Quinlisk Invitational Saturday afternoon and freshman Thomas McConnelee highlighted he day with a first-place finish in the discus.
The meet was originally scheduled to be hosted by RIT but weather changed the location of the meet to Geneseo.
The throwers were in the spotlight for the Redhawks Saturday as McConnelee won the discus while junior Ethan LaClair and freshman Diego Arellano Jasso finished 7th and 8th in the javelin.
McConnelee won the discus with a throw of 52.20 meters (171' 3") while LaClaire recorded a throw of 41.73 meters (136' 11") in the javelin. Arellano Jasso was close behind with a final mark of 41.59 meters (136' 5").
The Women's squad was led by graduate student Moriah Mills who placed 11th in the discus with a toss of 29.84 meters (97' 10").
The track and Field teams are scheduled to compete at Geneseo again next weekend at the Geneseo Invitation April 4-5.
