LEWISBURG, PA – Graduate student Owen White and freshman Thomas McConnelee set school records for the Roberts Wesleyan University Track and Field teams as a limited number of athletes competed at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic Saturday and Sunday in Pennsylvania.
White broke the school record in the 5K race late Saturday as he posted a time of 14:13.23 to place second in the race with a majority of NCAA Division I runners. With two laps remaining, White dropped back to fourth place but surged past two Division I runners from Cornell on the final lap to finish second overall.
McConnelee place third in the Discus Throw Saturday as he recorded a toss of 54.33 meters (178' 3") on his final throw of the competition. On Sunday, McConnelee put together a record-breaking performance in the Hammer Throw. He uncorked a record-throw of 58.22 meters on his first throw of the day and added to the record with a 59.63-meteer toss on his second attempt. In the finals round, he topped the 60-meter mark with a toss of 60.39 meters (198' 1") on his second throw and then capped the competition with a final record mark of 61.47 meters (201' 8"). The mark ranks No. 8 in the country for Division II.
Joining White in the 5K were seniors Jackson Doran (14:39.69) and Zachary Hall (14:39.76) who finished side-by-side with personal best times.
In the 1500-meter race, freshmen Jakob Zibbel and Trevor Heitkamp finished first and second in the first heat with each recording personal best times as Zibbel clocked a 4:00.90 and Heitkamp crossed the line in 4:02.26. Senior Landon Schreib was close behind with his final time of 4:04.76.
Freshman Paige Reeser had the top performance for the Roberts women at the meet Saturday night. Reeser had a personal best time by more then 10 seconds in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:47.58.

Kylee Odell recorded a time of 4:45.49 in the 1500 Invitational race and junior
Rachel Horner-Richardson clocked a 17:29.87 in the 5K race.
