BROCKPORT, NY – Sophomore Jadyn Mullen won the 400-meter Hurdles, graduate student Brynn King was first in the Pole Vault while freshman Aaliyah McCoy and senior Acacia Barber had second-place finishes to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Track and Field team at the Brockport Multi and Invitational that was completed Sunday afternoon.
Mullen raced to a first-place finish in the hurdles race with a time of 1:03.21 and King was the top vaulter as she cleared the 4.50-meter (14' 9") bar. The three-time National Champion and current NCAA record holder took a shot at a new NCAA record but missed on three attempts at 4.76-meters (15' 7 ¼").
McCoy recorded a personal best time as she placed second in the 200-meter race with a time of 27.59 seconds while Barber placed second in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:25.86. Junior Lydia Roselund was fifth in the race with her time of 2:28.92.
Freshman Alanna Daniel was third in the 100-meters with a time of 13.14 seconds and Roselund placed third in the 1500-meters race with a time of 5:01.35.
Sophomore Sarah Ferguson (4.06 meters /13' 3 ¾") was second in the Pole Vault while freshmen Alexandrea Robertson and Karis Kraf (3.66 meters/12' 0") tied for fourth, freshman Sarah Ouelette was sixth and sophomore Cora Seaburg was eighth with a height of 3.21 meters (10' 6 ¼") on her birthday.
Graduate student Moriah Mills was sixth in the Shot Put (10.81 meters/35' 5 ¾") and seventh in the Discus (32.67 meters/107' 2"). Sophomore Cristina Gonzalez-Simarro Rubio qualified for fianlas and placed seventh in the javelin with a personal best throw of 28.22 meters (92' 7").
Roberts is scheduled to compete at the Widener University Invitational next weekend in Pennsylvania.
