GREENVILLE, SC – Graduate student Owen White raced to a second-place finish against a field of predominantly NCAA Division I runners at the Bucknell Bison Spring Invitational over the weekend and has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Track Athlete of the Week.
White broke the school record in the 5K race late Saturday at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Invitational as he posted a time of 14:13.23 to place second in the race with a majority of NCAA Division I runners. With two laps remaining, White dropped back to fourth place but surged past two Division I runners from Cornell on the final lap to finish second overall. The record-breaking time was 12 seconds faster than his previous school record in the event set last year at the Baldwin Wallace Last Chance meet.
