ROCHESTER, NY – With a majority of the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Track and Field team competing at the St. John Fisher Invitational and some members of the team racing at the Grand Valley State Extra Weekend Meet in Michigan, the Redhawks saw one school record fall and several athletes reach personal best results.
Graduate student Owen White improved his own school record in the 5K race in Michigan as he took sixth overall in the invitational division with a time of 14:03.62. Senior Zachary Hall (39th), freshman Trevor Heitkamp (49th) and freshman Jakob Zibbel (55th) also ran in the race.
Senior Jackson Doran was sixth in the 1500 with a personal best time of 3:49.44 and sophomore Micah Barber had a PR in the 800 with his 15th-place time of 1:59.84. Senior Landon Schreib was fourth and freshman Vincent Ciraolo was 12th in the open 1500 race.
At St. John Fisher, freshman Austin Melvin led five top-10 finishers in the pole vault for Roberts as he took second place with a height of 4.65 meters (15' 3"). Corden Zimmerman, Jack Sauder, Braden Shaw and Chase McFadden all finished in the top eight spots for the Redhawks.
