ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan University sophomore
Sarah Ferguson set a personal record while winning the women's pole vault at the Cardinal Classic hosted by St. John Fisher University on Saturday.
Ferguson cleared 4.18 meters (13-feet, 8 ½-inches) as the Redhawks captured the first four spots. Ferguson's effort was the sixth-best in NCAA Division II this season. Her previous best was 4.12m (13-6¼) on March 19.
Freshman
Alexandrea Robertson (12-7½) finished second and first-year vaulters
Karis Kraf and
Sarah Ouelette (3.65m, 11-11¾) finished third and fourth, respectively. Oullette also set a personal best.
Sophomore
Jadyn Mullen also had a strong day, winning the 100-meter hurdles (14.92 seconds) and establishing personal records in the javelin (30.48m, 100-0), 800 (2:16.77) and 200 (26.6 seconds).
Freshman
Madelyn Rutledge set a personal best in the long jump (17-7).
In the Grand Valley State meet in Michigan, graduate student
Kylee Odell recorded a season-best time of 4:32.27 to place seventh in the 1500-meter race in the invitation only division. Freshmen
Paige Reeser (17:45.40) and
Evelyn Schmit (18:58.54) placed 17th and 29th respectively in the 5K race.
