COLONIA, NJ – Graduate student Owen White had another record-breaking weekend for the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Track and Field team and has been recognized by the East Coast Conference (ECC) with the Track Athlete of the Week award. He was joined by junior Ethan LaClair who earned ECC Weekly Honor Roll recognition.
White broke his own school record in the 5K race for the second time this season as he placed sixth overall at the Grand Valley State Extra Weekend meet over the weekend. White clocked a record time of 14:03.62 to place 6th out of 97 runners in a field of predominantly Division I runners. The mark is currently 32nd in the nation and No. 1 in the East Region.
LaClair hit a personal best with his javelin throw Saturday at the St. John Fisher Invitational. He placed sixth overall out of 31 throwers with his personal best effort of 44.36 meters (145' 6"). The throw moved him up to fifth on the ECC list for the season.
Roberts is set to host the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet Thursday at Roberts Stadium.
