Women’s Track and Field Place Second at ECC Championships

ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Rachel Horner-Richardson, graduate student Kylee Odell, senior Moriah Mills and sophomore Jadyn Mullen won two events each to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Track and Field team to a close second place finish at the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championships Thursday at Roberts Stadium.

The University of the District of Columbia won the team title with 194 points and Roberts was close behind with 175 points. Molloy (69 points) was third followed by Daemen (63), Staten Island (51), D'Youville (43) St. Thomas Aquinas (40) and Queens (16).

Horner-Richardson won the two distance races as she opened the competition with a victory in the 10K as she raced to a 39:26.48 winning time. Late in the meet, she added a win in the 5K race with a time of 18:19.49.

Mullen had a busy day as she won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.80 and anchored the winning 4x800 relay as she teamed with freshman Mia Lucyshyn, Odell and senior Acacia Barber for a winning time of 9:33.99. Odell added a win in the 1500-meter race with her time of 4:39.20.

Mills won a pair of throwing events with a first-place finish in the shot put with a heave of 11.63 meters and a top finish in the discus throw with a final mark of 37.49 meters.

Sophomore Sarah Ferguson won the pole vault with a mark of 4.06 meters while freshmen Karis Kraf (second), Alexandrea Robertson (third), Sarah Ouellette (fourth), Molly Winger (Fifth) and sophomore Cora Seaburg (sixth) also scored points for Roberts in the event.

Mullen finished second in the shot put, long jump and high jump while taking third in the 100-meter hurdles race. Odell added a third-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:19.81.

Freshman Madelyn Rutledge was second in the triple jump (10.74 meters) and was sixth in the long jump (5.02 meters). Freshman Kaylea Wagner was third in the shot put and sixth in both the discus and hammer throws.

Barber added a fourth-place finish in the 800 while freshman Paige Reeser was fourth and freshman Zoe Maupin was fifth in the same race. Freshman Evelyn Schmit was fifth (18:47.66) and junior Lydia Roselund was sixth (18:49.20) in the 5K. Junior Kaitlyn Goodwin was sixth in the 10K and fellow junior Gianna Tribotte placed fourth in the 3K Steeplechase.

The 4x100 relay with freshman Alanna Daniel, Rutledge, freshman Aaliyah McCoy and Robertson took fourth with a time of 52.19.
