WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Freshman Diego Arellano Jasso finished strong with a personal best time in the 1500-meter run to take second place overall in the Decathlon at the Farley Inter Regional Extravaganza event hosted by Williams College Friday and Saturday.
Jasso clocked a personal best 4:58.39 to win the last event of the competition to move up a spot from third to second in the final standings with a total of 5,623 points.
On Friday, the freshman posted personal best marks in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54:42 and also hit his best mark in the high jump with a final height of 1.84 meters (6' ½"). He was second in the high jump and fourth in the 400.
On Saturday, he reached a PR height of 3.90 meters (12' 9 ½") to place second in the Pole Vault and placed third in the 110-meter hurdles and fifth in the Discus and Javelin before finishing with his winning time in the 1500.
