BEREA, OH – Senior Jackson Doran broke one of the oldest records at Roberts Wesleyan as he raced to a second-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a record time of 3:45.49 at the Harrison Dillard Twilight Last Chance Meet Friday night in Ohio.
The time broke the old record of 3:47.18 set by Roberts Hall of Fame inductee Julius Rono set back in 2007.
Jackson led a group of seven Redhawk runners in the race as fellow senior Zachary Hall clocked a 3:57.47 which was just .07 off his career-best time. Senior Landon Schreib (4:02.98) was next followed by personal best times by sophomore Vincent Ciraolo (4:07.44), freshman Charlie Matzke (4:07.96) and freshman Aiden McDonald (4:14.70) and sophomore Micah Barber (4:18.51).
Graduate student Owen White won the 5K race with a Harrison Dillard Meet record and Stadium Record time of 14:09.75 as he led four Roberts runners across the finish line. Freshmen Trevor Heitkamp (14:51.64), Jakob Zibbel (15:11.93) and Caleb Price (15:45.34) all finished with personal best times.
Barber led four runners from Roberts in the crowded field of 80 runners in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:00.52. Senior Patrick Martin ran a personal best time of 2:02.39 while freshman Boston Dues (2:02.95) and graduate student Evan Davis (2:09.35) finished well for the Redhawks.
Roberts also had a pair of finishers in the 3K Steeplechase as sophomore
Russell Mulley (10:31.50) and freshman
Owen Tarolli (10:47.44) finished 17th and 18th in the race.
