ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan University graduate student Brynn King received the Rich Funke Jr. & Jerry Flynn Local College Athlete of the Year Award from the Rochester Press-Radio Club on Tuesday night.

King, who captured the NCAA Division II indoor and outdoor championships in the women's pole vault this season, has enjoyed two record-breaking seasons at Roberts. She has won a total of four NCAA Division II titles during her time as a Redhawk and holds the DII records for both indoor and outdoor.

King, who made the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team last summer, was honored prior to the Rochester Red Wings game against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at Innovative Field.

"It's very exciting," said King, who was named the Jerry Flynn Local Female College Athlete of the Year by the Press-Radio Club last year. "I definitely feel the support from Rochester, which is nice, and it was at a baseball game and it is always great to be at a sporting event."
