ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior
Rachel Horner-Richardson finished finish first to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday.
Horner-Richardson covered the 5K course in 18:11 for the host Redhawks, who finished with 68 points in the 15-team field. Geneseo captured the team competition with 41 points.
Sophomore
Paige Reeser placed third in 18:18 for Roberts. Sophomore
Evelyn Schmit was 17
th in 19:10 and senior
Lydia Roselund was 20
th in 19:14.3, giving the Redhawks four runners in the top 20.
Freshman
Emma Lipa placed 28
th in 19:32.0 and classmate
Michaela Goettel was 31
st in 19:37.3. Sophomore
Kennedy Mitchell was 35
th in 19:40.5 and senior
Gianna Tribotte was 40
th in the 183-runner field in 19:50.7.
The Redhawks are off until Oct. 18 when they will race in the Canisius University Alumni Classic.
