Melvin Breaks Own School Record For Second Time This Season

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sophomore Austin Melvin broke his own school record in the pole vault for the second straight week as the Roberts Wesleyan University men's track and field team competed at the RIT Friday Night Meet on Friday.

Melvin, who currently ranks second in NCAA Division II, cleared 5.27 meters (17-feet, 3 ½-inches) to break his mark set last week at SUNY Brockport by 3 ½ inches.

Freshmen Terron Metz (4.60 meters) and Noah Leathersich finished third and fourth, respectively, for the Redhawks.

Jackson Doran finished third in the 1,000-meter run (2:38.01) for Roberts.
