STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Track and Field team scored a team victory at the East Coast Conference (ECC) Indoor Championships for the first time since 2015 as the squad won seven events and beat Georgian Court by 39 points in the team standings for the title.
Roberts won the team title with 148 points and Georgian Court was second with 109. St. Thomas Aquinas (99.50 points) was third followed by Holy Family (80), Felician (52.50), Staten Island (46), Molloy (40), Daemen (36) and Queens (12).
The Redhawks had a victory in the Distance Medley Relay with sophomore Boston Dues, senior Micah Cornfield, freshman Roman Smith and sophomore Juvenal Diaz-Cortes raced to a winning time of 10:52.61.
Sophomore Trevor Heitkamp and graduate student Jackson Doran picked up two wins each as Heitkamp won the 5K and 3K races while Doran was the overall winner in the Mile and 800-meter races.
Sophomore Austin Melvin won the pole vault with a final height of 5.01-meters (16' 5 ¼") and sophomore Calvin Lill was the ECC Champion in the High Jump with his height of 1.93-meters (6' 4").
