Sophomore Paige Reeser broke the 5K school record at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University Saturday night and the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Track and Field team followed that up with 19 top-10 finishes including three first-place finishes at the Brockport Multi and Invitational Meet Sunday.
Reeser broke the record set by senior Rachel Horner-Richardson last year as she raced to a finish of 17:25.55 at Bucknell. Freshman Michaela Goettel also ran at Bucknell and posted a pair of personal best times with a 2:18.85 in the 800 and a 4:42.24 in the 1500 for Roberts.
At Brockport Sunday, sophomore Karis Kraf won the pole vault, sophomore Madelyn Rutledge won the triple jump and sophomore Zoe Maupin won the 5K race to lead the Redhawks.
Maupin was first in 18:49.21 while fellow sophomore Amelia Mickelson was second in 19:02.36, sophomore Kennedy Mitchell was third in 19:04.47 and sophomore Mia Lucyshyn was seventh in 19:24.28 in the 5K race.
Kraf was the top vaulter for Roberts, winning with a height of 3.85 meters (12' 7 ½"). Sophomore Kennedy Benjamins (3.85) was second, junior Melia Couchman (3.55) was fourth, freshman Natalie Murray (3.55) was fifth and sophomore Molly Winger (3.25) was seventh in the pole vault.
Rutledge was the top triple jumper at Brockport with a personal best mark of 11.21 meters (36' 7 ½").
In the 800-meter race, freshman Solki Martin-Lacayo was second with a time of 2:24.80 and fellow freshman Emma Lipa clocked a 2:27.60 to place fifth overall.
Horner-Richardson led four top finishers in the 1500 race as she placed fourth in 4:58.97 followed by sophomore Evelyn Schmit (seventh place in 5:01.47), Lipa (eighth place in 5:02.65) and Lucyshyn (tenth place in 5:03.07).
In the throwing events, freshman Ava Wierda was seventh in the Discus with a toss of 36.74 meters (120' 6") and eighth in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.68 meters (34' 10 ½").
Roberts will compete at the Rochester Alumni Invitational next Sunday at the University of Rochester.
