BROCKPORT, NY – Sophomore Diego Arellano Jasso and freshman Noah Schales finished in fifth and seventh place respectively in the Decathlon for the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Track and Field team Monday at the Brockport Multi and Invitational meet.
Arellano Jasso recorded a new personal best score with 5700 points and Schales placed seventh with 5511 points.
On day two of the events, Arellano Jasso had four top-six finishes to move up in the standings. He was third in the Javelin with a distance of 41.30 meters (135' 6"), fourth in the Discus with a throw of 29.57 meters (97' 0"), fifth in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.20 meters (13' 9 ¼") and was sixth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:10.24.
Schales finished in the top-eight in three events Monday as he placed sixth in the Javelin with a throw of 37.39 meters (122' 8"), seventh in the 1500 with his time of 5:14.19 and was tied for eighth in the Pole Vault with a final mark of 3.60 meters (11' 9 ¾").
