ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Ethan LaClair and the 4x100 Relay came home with second-place finishes Sunday to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Track and Field team in harsh weather conditions at the University of Rochester Alumni Meet in Fauver Stadium.
LaClair placed second in the Javelin Throw with a final mark of 41.93 meters (137' 6") for his second-place finish while the 4x100 relay featuring pole vaulters that did not compete at the meet as Freshman Luke Martinez, sophomore Chase McFadden, sophomore Terron Metz and freshman Owen Johnson placed second with a time of 46.22 seconds.
Freshman Josh Kratz took fourth in the Javelin Throw as his finished with a distance of 34.73 meters (113' 11").
Sophomore Diego Arellano Jasso had top-10 finishes in a pair of events as he placed third in the 110-meter Hurdles with a time of 16.80 and took fifth in the High Jump as he cleared 1.73 meters (5' 8").
Sophomore Owen Callahan was fourth in the Hammer Throw with a heave of 48.87 meters (160' 4") and added a seventh-place finish in the Shot Put with a final mark of 12.63 meters (41' 5 ¼").
In the 3K Steeple Chase, sophomore Owen Tarolli placed sixth and classmate Hunter Himebaugh was sixth with times of 10:27.61 and 10:27.67 respectively.
Sophomore Calvin Lill was sixth in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.30 meters (20' 8") and Martinez was sixth in the Triple Jump as he finished with a mark of 12.72 meters 41' 8 ¼").
Freshman William Miller rounded out the top-10 performances on the day with a throw of 35.55 meters (116' 7") in the Hammer Throw.
The Redhawks are scheduled to compete in the RIT Invitational Friday and the Grand Valley Extra Weekend Meet Saturday before hosting the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championships at Roberts Stadium April 30.
