WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 4, 2014) – The Women's Tennis team suffered a narrow 5-4 loss on the road today at conference foes, District of Columbia.
Roberts Wesleyan earned the win at first singles with
Fatima Ouattara picking up a 6-2, 6-3 victory over the Firebirds' Maxime Duijst. However, Ouattara and
Klara Lang fell to Duijst and Laura Dimante at first doubles, 8-1.
Camilla Linhart also won in singles action by coming out on top with a 6-3, 6-3 result against Laura Rojas at fourth singles.
Several singles matches were close and could have gone either way. At second singles, Lang fell to Mona Looareesuwan 6-4, 4-6, 3-6. At third doubles,
Natalia Cardona was unable to earn the win, falling to Dimante 6-3, 1-6, 1-6.
The loss puts Roberts Wesleyan's overall record at 4-6 and 2-4 in the conference. The Redhawks are back in action this Monday when they host Saint Rose at 4pm.
