Men's Tennis Opens Fall Season With Pair of Wins

The Redhawks shutout Saint Anselm and Franklin Pierce on the road

RINDGE, N.H. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's tennis team opened the fall portion of the schedule in convincing fashion as they picked up shutout wins over Saint Anselm and Franklin Pierce over the weekend.

In Friday's win over Saint Anselm, Jose Lopez Tapia picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Brian Kavanagh at third singles while also earning the win at first doubles with Robert Beer.

Against Franklin Pierce, the Redhawks again cruised as Charles Farres downed Marcus Lawrence 6-2, 6-1 at first singles after winning at second doubles with Rene Torti.  

"We player efficiently against two good teams," said head coach Tom Linhart. "It was a good way to start the season."

Roberts Wesleyan is back in action this Tuesday when they host Le Moyne at 4 p.m.
