Women's Tennis Goes 2-0 to Start Season

The Redhawks edged Saint Anselm on Friday before shutting out Franklin Pierce on Saturday

RINDGE, N.H. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's tennis team started their schedule with a pair of road wins this weekend by edging Saint Anselm, 6-3, before shutting out Franklin Pierce, 9-0.

In Friday's win at Saint Anselm, Camilla Linhart won a third singles with a score of 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2 after teaming up with Marine Kennel to win 8-6 at second doubles. Newcomer Alyssa Brault was also a double winner for the Redhawks at fifth singles and third doubles.

In their win at Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Natalia Cardona downed Sonia Rodrigues at first singles 6-2, 6-2 while also winning at first doubles, 8-1, with teammate Tiffany Hamdan.

Roberts Wesleyan is back in action this coming Wednesday when they host Daemen at 4 p.m. in their East Coast Conference opener.
