Women's Tennis Stops Daemen in Conference Opener

Roberts Wesleyan continued their perfect start to the year with a 6-3 win at home against the Wildcats

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan women's tennis team opened East Coast Conference play with a 6-3 win over Daemen at home this afternoon.
 
After losing both first doubles and first and second singles, Roberts Wesleyan managed to sweep the rest of the matchups against the Wildcats.
 
At fourth singles, Tiffany Hamdan clinched the match for the Redhawks as she edged Daemen's Jessica Robins 6-4, 7-5.
 
Alyssa Brault, a freshman, continued her perfect start this season by winning fifth singles while also taking third singles with teammate Emily Linhart in an 8-0 shutout against Robins and Maria McGrath.
 
Roberts Wesleyan improved to 3-0 overall while starting out conference play at 1-0. The team is back in action this Friday when they visit Saint Rose for a non-conference meeting.
